TJCL 2021 Remote Convention
After meeting with APSU at our Fall Planning, we made the call and went virtual for TJCL 2021. APSU’s event director was not comfortable approving the event, numbers were going up, school districts would’ve said no, and we did not want to string everyone along all throughout the spring teasing the possibility of a physical convention, making you worry about hotels, etc. We hope to return to physical conventions in 2022 and we have tentatively scheduled to return to APSU April 22-23, 2022.
That said, this new virtual convention is an exciting one already! We put on a pretty good virtual convention last year (one of the only ones in the country), but we learned a lot doing it. We’re happy to bring those lessons to this new year, along with returning events and brand new ones! We have things planned that span an entire month and then some, from March 13 to April 24. To help you keep track of it all, I made a TJCL 2021 Google Calendar, linked below.
Remember that your school must be registered with (and paid for) both NJCL and TJCL in order to register for convention!
I went with a Google Doc this time so I can edit it without everyone having to worry about if they’re looking at the most current version. To keep the main packet short, I made a separate document with the rules that haven’t changed much from a normal year. The main packet conveniently links you to the right spot in the annual rules packet and the bookmarks throughout the main packet let you navigate the document quickly.
