Membership Qualifications
Note: Each list number corresponds with the section number of the official TJCL Constitution
1. Members:
3. Members-at-Large: people qualified for membership with no local chapters can become active members at large by registering
with TJCL and NJCL
4. Good Standing: local chapters must meet annual standards set by the Executive Board. These standards include (but are not
limited to): paying annual dues by the set deadline

1. Members:
- Either be taking or have taken a course in classical languages or humanities OR membership can be granted by the chapter or state organization without having taken a classics course
3. Members-at-Large: people qualified for membership with no local chapters can become active members at large by registering
with TJCL and NJCL
4. Good Standing: local chapters must meet annual standards set by the Executive Board. These standards include (but are not
limited to): paying annual dues by the set deadline
5. Sponsors:
- Must be a Latin teacher, a teacher of classical humanities, or an individual approved by a State Chair
- Must also be an ACL member
- This person is responsible for chapter activities
